Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress famous for her performance in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Born as the only child from Romanian actor Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into the showbiz world early and was playing lead roles in different TV dramas before she turned 16. Her fame was due to her role on Der Tunnel. This paved for her to play other memorable roles, including Adolf Hitler's secretariat Traudl Junge. The other Oscar nominated movies featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra is associated with numerous notable projects, both nationally as well as internationally. They include the British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French historical mini-series Napoleon and many more. In addition, she is juror at two festivals: the Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
